Ever since Kevin began playing competitive hockey, he has not only had a desire to train but also an abiding curiosity to discover what kind of training works best and why. After retiring from hockey, Kevin completed eight Ironmans, including two Hawaii Ironman Championships. His personal best came at Ironman Canada in 2003, with a time of 9 hours, 36 minutes.
Kevin continues to push his own racing limits, achieving a sub-two hour Olympic Distance triathlon at the 2007 Edmonton ITU on his way to a second overall placing that included the fastest bike split. The following year at Great White North 2008, Kevin set a new personal best with a 4 hours, 6 minutes clocking and a 4th place overall finish. Kevin also competes in the individual disciplines, including Category 2 bike racing. His personal bests in running are a 33:55 in a 10 km run, 75 minutes in a half marathon, and 2 hours, 43 minutes in a marathon.
Racing aside, Kevin strives to improve his own development as a trainer and coach. His interest in body mechanics and functional, healthy movements has driven him to spend the last four years studying how to help people achieve efficient, injury-free movements in daily living and sport. Kevin's clients train with him because of the boundless enthusiasm and energy that he invests in helping them reach their goals, whatever they may be, from improving their general fitness and developing healthy lifestyles to achieving their personal bests on the clock.
